Leaving the city, we passed through the area where the electronics industry flourished in the 1970s.
After crossing the Olivia River, we’ll drive along the edge of the mountain of the same name to make our first stop at the Carbajal Valley overlook, where we’ll take in the vastness of the landscape, its terrain, and the glaciers in the background.
We continue along Route 3, passing the Cerro Castor ski resort, and on to the Haruwen resort, where we’ll sample regional liqueurs and visit the world’s southernmost motorcycle museum.
As we pass through the Garibaldi Pass, we’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Lakes Escondido and Fagnano, at an elevation of about 480 meters above sea level.
Further on, we'll reach the headwaters of Lake Fagnano, located on the grounds of the La Carmen ranch.
From here, we'll head to one of the ski resorts along Route 3 to enjoy a refreshing lunch **
