Cabalgata Experience is a horseback ride through the Estancia 25 de Mayo Nature Reserve, where we can experience the vastness of the Patagonian countryside, discovering ravines, streams, and stories of the southern gauchos, while enjoying a country-style lunch at Cueva del Arroyo.
We’ll start at the Estancia 25 de Mayo ranch, where we’ll have a brief technical briefing. After putting on our helmets and gaiters, we’ll set out from the corrals heading south, crossing the Calafate Creek ravine.
Along the way, we’ll cross streams and pass geological formations that bear witness to millions of years of history. The ravine formed by these rocks shelters us from the region’s characteristic winds as we gain elevation on our hike.
After an hour and a half of riding, we arrived at Cueva del Arroyo, where the gauchos leading the trek prepared a delicious country-style lunch for us. To round out the experience, they treated us to a toast with wine, and then we returned to the main building of Estancia 25 de Mayo.
