We left the city and took National Route 3 north.
After crossing the Olivia River, we’ll drive along the slopes of the mountain of the same name to make our first stop at the Carbajal Valley overlook, where we’ll take in the vastness of the landscape, its terrain, and the glaciers in the background.
We continue along the route until we reach the Garibaldi Pass overlook. From there, we’ll head down the old Route 3, where we’ll enjoy a magnificent view of Lago Escondido.
We’ll continue along the road, where we’ll see the old “Lago Escondido” sawmill and the source of the Milna River. After traveling about 2 km, we’ll reach the first gate, where we’ll begin the off-road loop. The trail will take us to the entrance of Puesto La Carmen, Estancia Los Álamos, and Lake Fagnano, where you’ll have time to take a few short walks along the shore and visit an active beaver dam.
On the way back, we'll stop at the restaurant, nestled in the heart of a unique setting surrounded by nature, to enjoy a refreshing lunch.
When we're done, we'll head back to Ushuaia.
